The project goal was to demolish and build-out a 12,800sqft wing at Dirksen.
The scope of work included upgrades to electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection, ADA compliance for entire space, water fountains, sinks and bathrooms, casework installation, door & flooring replacement, lighting upgrades, installation of new wall partitions throughout, renovation to accommodate common space, private offices, bathrooms and classrooms, painting of classrooms and finish selection. Prior to design, a facility analysis was performed, and it was determined more funding was necessary. The board approved more funding to bring this project to fruition because our presentation and recommendations.
JP Architects, Ltd. provided comprehensive architectural services, including pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, management of bidding and procurement and post-construction close-out and warranty services.
Everett McKinley Dirksen Elementary School recently had a new construction annex built. This 12,800sqft renovation addressed deficiences in the original wing of the school and modernized it to match the aesthetic of the addition.
JP Architects, Ltd. selected finishes within CPS standards that enchance comfortability and bring renewed energy to classrooms and facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, LED lighting, flooring and furniture.
