At both Eisenhower High School and Richards High School, the District sought to modernize aging entrances while creating clearly defined points of arrival that reflect the character, traditions, and spirit of each school community.
JP Architects partnered with the District to reimagine the primary facades and entrance experiences at both campuses. Through contemporary architectural elements, expanded glazing, updated materials, improved accessibility, and integrated school branding, each design creates a welcoming and highly visible entry sequence. Equally important, the renovations establish secure, controlled points of entry that direct visitors through designated check-in locations, enhancing safety for students, staff, and stakeholders while improving the overall visitor experience.
At Eisenhower High School, the design draws inspiration from the building's historic character while creating a bold new entrance that celebrates Cardinal pride. The renovated entry sequence incorporates prominent branding and a dedicated history wall showcasing the school's legacy, accomplishments, and traditions. By blending modern design with historical elements, the project creates an arrival experience that honors the past while welcoming future generations of students.
At Richards High School, the updated facade establishes a distinctive and contemporary presence that reflects the pride of the Bulldog community. Modern materials, expansive glazing, and integrated school branding create a recognizable identity that enhances the visitor experience while providing a clearly defined and secure entrance sequence. The result is a welcoming environment that reinforces school spirit from the moment students, families, and guests arrive on campus.
To maximize value for the District, JP Architects developed a phased approach that extended portions of the work beyond the traditional summer construction schedule. By strategically distributing project components over a longer timeframe, the District avoided the premium costs often associated with compressed summer construction while maintaining normal school operations. This approach allowed available funds to be utilized more efficiently, maximizing the impact of the investment while minimizing disruption.
