Ariel Delao joined JP Architects, Ltd. in April of 2021. At the time, we discussed how Ariel strengthens our leadership, but now, we wanted to give you a look behind the curtain, into who Ariel Delao is and the value he brings, as a partner, to JP Architects.

Ariel Delao spent years honing his craft as the restaurant design studio principal at his previous firm. He worked with and helped launch the expansion of many iconic national restaurant brands you find yourself visiting today. Ariel brings that background and comprehensive experience to JP Architects’ partners.

Ariel understands the intricacies and challenges of restaurant design. Simply put, he knows how to bring a project from idea to reality. His knowledge of national brand roll-out programs, corporate refresh initiatives, second-generation restaurant design, and prototype development and management is an added value to any potential client or current partner. From the first conversation, Ariel gains an understanding of the project, helps our partners realize what’s possible within their space, and maximizes the program by finding efficiencies for kitchen design and essential space/system placement.

Beyond restaurant design, Ariel is an imperative member of the JP Architects management team. Due to recently being awarded Architect of Record for a Suburban School District, Ariel’s management responsibilities have expanded to all firm projects. This is valuable for our team and partners because Ariel brings insight into design standards, market conditions, and equipment costs across the United States, which helps with educating our partners, construction estimates, and value engineering (when necessary).

Ariel is proud of his Hispanic heritage. He is a committed family man, father, and husband. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in the same class as JP Architects, Ltd. President Jose R. Pareja. Ariel Delao is a restaurant design trailblazer, an effective leader, and imperative to the success of JP Architects’ future. We’re blessed to have Ariel on our team.
